The climb to the hilltop, where the finely crafted Three Brethren cairns stand, promises to make a memorable day out. Travel the heartlands of the beautiful River Tweed to make a riverside walk and if time and energy permits, to ascend to an ancient hillfort.

Itinerary for Scottish Borders Tour and Walk:

-    Drive south from Edinburgh into the wooded hillsides of the Borders region.       

-    Climb to the summit of the Three Brethren to admire the fine cairns built 500 years ago and enjoy the fine views with a picnic. Walk grading: A moderate to strenuous hill climb along well defined tracks and paths. Distance: 7kms. Height Gained: 380m.

-     Drive along the attractive Tweed valley, via the attractive town of Peebles and make a riverside walk.

-      If time permits, ascend to an ancient hillfort.
