A new partner

Sparkie, our beautiful collie pictured above leading a group of us through the long heather, had to be put to sleep last July at the age of 17. I was so upset that I couldn’t bring myself to announce this very sad news until now. Sparkie was such a fine companion on every adventure and was even liked by those who didn’t care for dogs. He even cured a couple of people of their dog phobias - such is his legendary reputation.

In early November, Zakaurelius came to us from a farm on the Black Isle, surplus to requirement as they were reducing their livestock and no longer needed an extra sheepdog. He will be a great addition to the Roaming Scotland experience. Zak (for short) is just a year old and is learning fast. He is gentle and eager to please - attributes that will stand him in good stead for what lies ahead.
