Book 2 in the Z-Rod trilogy

Celtic saint moves forward in new Pictish book, Z-Rod

Z-ROD: HEIRS OF PROMISE - Book 2 - Due for an April launch.

By way of a teaser, here is the first in a series, showing a part detail of the new book cover picture. Following, is an excerpt from a promotion that the publisher is sending around the media:

This second book in the Z-Rod Series - a compelling saga of Picts and Gaels in 6th-century Scotland - takes Pictish princes, Taran and Oengus, to even further separation through the incredibly different paths they take in life: Oengus begins and develops his era as ruler of the Ce, modelling himself on the wily intelligence of the boar as his inspiration; whilst Taran embarks on a prophecy-driven, but precarious journey, to direct a powerless and obscure exile to realise his destiny. The plot moves forward, with clever twists and dramatic moments that intrigue and shock the reader. Two belief systems are contrasted, and is as much about a clash of ideologies as about skirmishes in pursuit of political power: on the one hand, the old faith of Scotland; on the other the new Christian beliefs. These two ways of being are embodied by these princes.
