Glen Coe & Loch Ness

Dates: 21-22 May 2019

2 days of Tour & Trek, with 1 night accommodation included

Price: £265pp, subject to B&B availability, for 2 days with one night’s accommodation included, tours in the minibus and hikes led by a qualified Mountain Guide.. Food and drink excluded.

Pickup from and return to Edinburgh, this ‘Tour & Trek’ will take us past Linlithgow Palace, the Kelpies and Stirling Castle. En route into the Highlands, we will pass the fine scenery of the Trossachs and Glen Coe. A hill climb is incorporated into this day and a visit to the Glencoe museum.

Overnight in the Fort William area and enjoy gentle hikes on the second day up Glen Nevis and to an Iron-Age hill fort above Fort Augustus, or a chance to have a trip on Loch Ness (not included in the price). Then we journey south by taken the road east first into the Cairngorm National Park, with a hike up to some ruined sheilings in the hills and a saunter around historic Dunkeld.


Hill Walking Week in the Cairngorm Mountains

Price: £650 per person for 7 days / 6 nights. Price includes accommodation, pickup and return to Edinburgh, daily transport to and from the hike starting points and a fully qualified mountain leader to guide. Responding to popular demand, we have a new hiking excursion of a week based in the superb location of the Cairngorms National Park at Braemar.

Daily outings will venture through stunning Caledonian pine forests, up the steep, glacial glens and onto the summits of Munros and Corbetts. This is a largely midge-free area. Accommodation is in a comfortable bunkhouse, with self catering facilities, drying room, adjoining a hotel with bar and restaurant. Local shops supply all your grocery needs. Climb a Ben (Hill)

Date: Wednesday, 14th August 2019 at 09:30 - single day hill outing from Edinburgh

Cost: £95 pp Includes pick up and return in Edinburgh in a minibus. This is an all day outing tackling a hill summit or possibly two, weather dependent.

4 Day West Coast Highlands

Dates: to be decided 

Price: £635 per person for 4 days (3 nights) based on 2 people sharing in a good standard B&B with daily ‘Trip & Trek’ outings (£705 single occupancy of a room for the package). Price includes B&B accommodation, transport, pickup from and return to Glasgow, with daily ‘Trip & Trek’ in coastal and hill settings, and a day’s ferry trip out to the Small Isles. Costs include a fully qualified mountain leader to guide and daily outings in the minibus (including taxi service to local inns and restaurants in the evenings).

Morar is an area of truly outstanding beauty that’s far from the tourist crowds. It’s sandy beaches, backed by steep hills, riven with Highland glens, abounding with lochs, makes for spectacular hiking in some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery. Excursions include discovering a hidden gem of a castle, a whole day voyaging around some of the Small Isles (Rum, Eigg, Canna and Muck) including a landfall and a good hike; and enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the neighbouring regions of Moidart and Ardnamurchan by road and on foot. Walks in the Fort William, Ben Nevis and Glen Coe regions will be included during the outward and return travel.

Based in one place gives the chance to rest more instead of packing and unpacking each day. The very fine Glencairn B&B is hand-picked by us, chosen for the warmth of a genuine welcome and opportunity to relax in stylish comfort, in a really peaceful setting, close to expanses of sandy beaches. Previous clients who stayed here all expressed the wish that they could have remained longer.

Rannoch & Corrour 3 days / 2 nights

DATES: 15-17 September 2019

‘3 days of Hill-Walking’ based in one B&B led by a fully qualified Mountain Leader guide, with pickup from and return to Stirling or Edinburgh in the Roaming Scotland minibus.

Price: £360 based on sharing a room in a B&B, subject to availability . Excludes meals (other than breakfasts) and drinks. Single Supplement £440 | Wild camping £250 - both for the whole package.

Based in the wilderness heart of Scotland, look forward to three days of quality walks that include:

  • A part traverse of the best of Rannoch Moor, above the solitary shores of Loch Laidon and through the forest to look out over the desolation of the moor and to Glen Coe.

  • A train ride to Corrour, a remote station, from where we’ll climb around the horseshoe ridge of Leum Uilleim, a Corbett, with excellent views of a part of Scotland unseen from any road.

  • An option of either circumnavigating the lonely but lovely Loch Ossian; or an ascent of Schiehallion - the ‘fairy hill of the Caledonians’

Stay in a great quality B&B, or opt for the low budget, big experience of wild camping.
